What are your opening hours?

Monday-Friday 9am - 5:30pm and Saturday 9am - 3pm.
Extended hours Saturday 23rd & 30th January & 6th February 9am - 5pm
Closed Sundays and Australia Day Holiday

 

How do I get a password to access my child's list on your website?

Passwords are printed on the original forms distributed at school. The password appears at the top of the front and back of the form. If you have not received this form please email jacaranda@jacaranda.com.au and you will be sent your password.

 

When will my order be filled?

If you have not selected the home/office delivery option then your pack will be delivered to the school for distribution on the designated school shop day/time. These details appear at the bottom of your form and on our website
If you have selected the home/office delivery option then your pack will be sent to your address during January

 

Can I collect my pack early?

No. Your preordered pack will not be at our shop. Your order will be packed and stored at a different location and cannot be accessed until the school shop date.
If you do not preorder and visit our store we cannot guarantee that all items will be available and you may have a lengthy wait in line on our busy days.
Please remember that if you preorder and select the home/office delivery option you will receive your pack during January.

 

Do I have to select every item?

No, however it is expected by your school that your child is equipped with all the listed items for the start of school. For Web ordering tick the boxes for the items you require. To order through the school rule a neat line through any item you do not wish to purchase. If you decide to delete any item from these lists the same item of the same quality needs to be supplied for the first day of school.
There may be specialized items on your list that Jacaranda provides to schools & the public in Canberra.

 

Do I have to prepay?

No, you do not have to prepay, however prepayment allows you express lane collection at the school shop. Prepayment is only required for web orders and orders with home/office delivery. Orders handed into your school have an option to either prepay OR pay on collection at the school shop day in 2010. Accepted methods of payment at the school shop are cash, Eftpos, Visa or Mastercard. Sorry no cheques.

 

What should I do if I don't know which elective subjects my high school student will be studying in 2010?

Please contact your school to confirm as many subjects as possible before the end of the year. Place an order with as many subject requirements as you are able. If an incorrect choice is made exchanges or store credit may be given for goods in mint condition brought into the shop within 2 weeks of purchase.

 

I have missed the date for placing an order. Can I place a late order?

Yes. We understand that personal circumstances may prevent you ordering by the due date. Late orders can be placed through school or on our website. Web ordering will continue to operate during the school holidays and early Term1. Please be aware that some items may sell out and take longer to supply. Orders placed close to your school shop distribution day may not be filled in time to be available on that day. We recommend that when you place a late order you select the home/office delivery option.

 

When is my school shop distribution date and time?

These details appear on the bottom of your printed school order form on the cut-off slip. Details are also listed on our website. If your school is not listed then your pack will be distrubuted in the classroom.

 

I have selected home/office delivery. When will I receive my pack?

Your pack will be delivered to your address sometime during January. If you have orders for students at different schools their packs will arrive at different times.

 

Can I order my pack on the web and collect it from your shop?

No. Web preorders are processed separately and are not packed at our shop, they are at a different location and cannot be accessed until the school shop date. If you require your pack earlier than this date then we recommend you select the home/office delivery option and have your pack delivered to your address.

 

I don't understand what some of these products are. Can I view these items before I buy?

Jacaranda's shop is at 15 Bowman Street, Macquarie ACT. You may view or purchase these items in our shop. Please be aware that all items may not be in stock until late December.

 

Who creates the school lists?

Every class list for every school is unique and the items are selected by teachers at each school. The lists are reviewed and altered every year as required to meet changing needs and include appropriate new products.

 

I've selected the home / office delivery option. Which courier do you use and when will my pack arrive?

We use Fastway Couriers for Canberra area deliveries. This enables Jacaranda and the customer to track the delivery of their order. If you are not at home when Fastway try to deliver your pack they will leave a card so you can contact them to make other arrangements. Please email jacaranda@jacaranda.com.au if you have any problems.

 

I've received my pack and an item is missing or faulty. How can this be fixed?

Email us at jacaranda@jacaranda.com.au and indicate the error or damage to your item. We also need to know the student's name, year level, school, parent/carer's name and best daytime phone number. Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your pack. A replacement item will be sent to the school or may be collected from our shop. Any damaged goods must be returned to Jacaranda.

 

I missed out an item in my order. What do I do?

You may like to place a second order on our website for the additional item/s you require. Alternatively you could visit Jacaranda at 15 Bowman Street, Macquarie ACT to purchase this item. Please be aware that during late January/early February our shop will experience a high customer level and there may be extended waiting times.

 

I placed an order but now my child is changing schools. What are my options?

Email jacaranda@jacaranda.com.au and provide details of your order and contact information. If the new school your child will be attending also has a Jacaranda School list we can transfer your order to the new list. If not, we will negotiate a refund if you have prepaid. Please contact us as soon as possible.

 

Can I pay and order multiple school packs in the one transaction?

No. We require each school pack to be processed as a separate order. They are packed and payment processed individually.
We anticipate that this option may be available in the future for multiple web orders.

 

What is a "to follow" or "raincheck" item?

If your order contains an item that is not available at the time of packing, it is a "to follow" item. You will receive an information slip in your pack and the item will be delivered to the school when it is available. Eg. If a textbook needs to be reprinted by the publisher and there is a delay in the supply chain.
If an item is unavailable when you purchase a pack from our shop then the item may be paid and ordered for you. This is called a "raincheck"

 

Is there a VIP or priority service I can pay for?

No. Every order is treated with equal importance and we offer a range of different ordering options to suit your needs.
Orders may be placed by returning the printed order form to your school, ordering on our website or purchasing items from our shop.
Preorders can be collected from the school on the designated school shop day or you can select the home/office delivery option.
